Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Europaskool ("Europaskool", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data for anyone who uses this website, whether as a self-study learner, a student in a class, a teacher, or an administrator.

What data we collect

Account information: name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text) for registered accounts.

Learning activity: lesson completions, quiz scores, XP, streaks, and flashcard review history, so your progress can be tracked and shown back to you.

Class data: if you're enrolled in or teaching a class, we store enrollment records, assignment submissions, grades, and class stream posts.

Camera, microphone, and screen-share video: live classes use your device's camera and microphone, and optionally screen sharing, to connect you with your teacher or classmates in real time. This audio/video is relayed between participants for the duration of the session and is not recorded or stored by us unless a session is explicitly recorded, which is disclosed to all participants before it starts.

Enquiry submissions: if you use our Contact form, we collect your name, email, enquiry type, and message.

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

Account and learning data is processed to provide the service you've asked for (fulfilling our contract with you). Enquiry submissions are processed with your consent, given when you submit the Contact form.

Who else processes your data

We use the following third-party processors to run this service:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting, our database (Cloudflare D1), and live video classes (Cloudflare Realtime).
  • Google Forms / Sheets — receiving and storing Contact form submissions.
  • Google AdSense — advertising on our public pages, and only if you accept advertising cookies. See the Cookies section below.

These providers may process data outside your country of residence as part of their global infrastructure.

Cookies

We use a single, strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. Strictly-necessary cookies are exempt from consent under GDPR/ePrivacy rules, so this one is always set. We use no analytics or tracking cookies.

On our public pages (such as the blog) we also offer advertising through Google AdSense, which sets advertising cookies. These are optional and off by default: nothing advertising-related is loaded unless you actively choose “Accept” in our cookie banner. Choosing “Reject” is equally easy and leaves the site fully usable. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which makes the banner ask again.

We never show ads inside the signed-in app — your lessons, practice, live classes, and dashboards are ad-free, and no advertising cookies are set there regardless of your choice.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account (see below), we delete your personal data except where we're required to retain records by law.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for anything based on consent, like enquiries)

To exercise any of these rights, use our Contact form and mention your request in the message, or, if you're logged in, use the request action on your Account page. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children and live class safety

Europaskool is not directed at children under 16, though some registered students are minors enrolled with a parent or guardian's knowledge. Live classes are structured, teacher-led sessions, not open or anonymous chat: students can only join a session after a teacher admits them from the waiting room, and teachers and administrators can remove any participant or end a session at any time. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, or you have a child-safety concern about a class, contact contact@europaskool.com and we'll act on it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
